Drawings can be finished works of art and also useful any project. Sketching out ideas or using a pencil drawing to map out a painting can be very helpful. I draw with charcoal, conte, ink, pencil or whatever I can get my hands on.

Charcoal and conte blend easily which allows you to forgo lines in favor of blended edges. Make sure to consider how the background relates to the subject. Sometimes the value of the subject and the background match. You can blend out this edge! Other times there is an edge where the darkest dark meets the lightest light. This will be high contrast and you can leave this edge nice and sharp.
